A RATED WINDOWS

Energy efficient windows help to minimise heating and lighting costs and are environmentally friendly.

A RATED windows have zero heat loss and are a huge improvement over most of the double glazed windows installed over the past 30 years, almost all of which will lose nearly twice as much heat loss as an A RATED window.

With energy prices rising, the benefit of installing an A RATED window will help not only the environment but will save on heating bills too.

The WINDOW ENERGY LABELLING SCHEME was launched in the UK by the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC), a government supported independent body. We are registered with the BFRC and you can find us on their website: www.fensa.org.uk/. Search: SCORPIO WINDOWS LTD (BFRC Registration No: 2357)

Windows are rated according to the new Window Energy Ratings (WERs) system, which has been endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust. WERs are a sophisticated ranking system, judging not just the energy efficiency of the frame or glass, but the whole window. WERs measure a window's energy performance, rating how much heat the window retains, how much heat a window gains through capturing sunlight and how little air is lost through the window.

WINDOW ENERGY LABELS work in the same way as household appliance energy labels for fridges, freezer and washing machines. By using information contained on the energy label, consumers can reliably compare the energy efficiencies of one product with another.
